Sports offers for people with escape and migration background in the HELLERSDORFER ATHLETICS - CLUB BERLIN e.v.
One of our most successful refugee athletes is Mohammad Amin Alasalami from Syria.
He lived in Aleppo until 2015 and was the most successful Long Pulloper in his homeland. Then the war came to his hometown and destroyed its existence, that of his family and millions of people in Syria.
He had to end his sports studies and fled to Europe across the Mediterranean. He landed in Berlin and looked for a sports club. At the HELLERSDORFER ATHLETIK-CLUB BERLIN e.V. he found a new sporting home and many friends. Thanks to the support of his coach Lutz Kramer, he continued to develop and is now one of the best in Germany in the long jump and triple jump. Many friends supported him on his way and so he was able to be included in the IOC Refugee Team in 2023.
His most beautiful success was participation in the Summer Olympics in Paris, where he started in the long jump. In the meantime, he is now a German citizen and hopes to be able to represent Germany at international championships.
He is a role model for many refugees in Germany. Not everyone makes it into the Olympic Games, but hopefully in our club when they are interested!
The game collects people of different origin and offers many opportunities for the sports club community.
Our club offers 20 departments in which you can do sports together with other people. People with a refugee or migrant background often have problems taking advantage of these sports opportunities due to a lack of German language skills. That is why our club has special offers:
